The Owasso Youth Orchestra, a 501(c)3 organization, provides students an opportunity to enjoy music together through an orchestra setting, while building a foundation for future musical involvement both personally and in the community.
A nonprofit organization, the Owasso Youth Orchestra was formed in 2011 to increase education and performance opportunities for young musicians and to bring an expanded repertoire of symphonic music to the Owasso and surrounding communities. Members of the orchestra range from ages 8 to 18, representing private, public and home school students. OYO allows young musicians to increase confidence and skill as they learn to play music in a group setting from professionally trained musicians, Melody Garrett and Brandy Gordon. Our vision is that these students will be future performers, teachers or advocates for the arts in an Oklahoma community and to help others to develop as young musicians.
